Environmental Compliance Case Study I

A landowner had received planning permission for and was undertaking a large scale engineering project to upgrade the earthen flood defence barrier protecting his low lying land from tidal flooding.

Our solution

EES researched routes which the client could take with regard to importing material on site for use on the flood banks.  EES devised and agreed with the Environment Agency, a WRAP Quality Protocol for imported clean aggregate and soils.  EES managed the protocol in practice to ensure that only compliant material is imported and also advised on other environmental and compliance issues.

And the benefits

Through their cutting edge environmental compliance knowledge and an extensive network of clients, EES were able to assist in sourcing soils from engineering and construction sites within the area.  EES environmental compliance skills have ensured that a steady flow of suitable and traceable soils arrived on site and the ongoing engineering project continued smoothly.
